Set sailinto an ocean of learning.
“I want to know more,” as a compass.
To hold a question is to hold the rudder of your own life.
By the time they turn three, children have already stored up everything they have seen, heard and touched as a great many small experiences.
Each one of them is a treasure asleep in the sea of learning, one the child has not yet noticed for themselves.
- “What is this?”
- “Why does it happen this way?”
- “I want to know more.”
The moment the heart stirs, a child holds a question that is theirs alone, and begins to dive into the sea of learning.
From age three,
into a sea of questions.
What they have seen. What they have heard. What they already know.
From among it all, they find the one thing that stirs them, and dive deep.
With “why?” as their compass,
learning that draws a course of their own begins here.
Now — into the sea of learning. →

Every greeting opens a new world.
Each morning at RaJA is filled with different languages and cultures. By spending every day with educators from diverse backgrounds, children come to understand that difference is not something unusual—it is a natural part of the world. Our teachers are more than people who provide answers. They are learning companions who listen to each child’s “Why?” and explore the ocean of learning alongside them.
Our team includes educators who grew up speaking English, those who learned it as an additional language, and bilingual educators who connect Japanese and English. Each teacher brings different cultural experiences, educational perspectives, and professional expertise. Together, they observe and support every child from multiple points of view. Rather than immediately giving children the answer, our teachers ask: “What do you think?” “How could we find out?” “Is there another way to look at it?” Through these conversations, teachers and children think, investigate, and deepen their understanding together. RaJA does not seek to teach one single “correct English.” We nurture the ability to understand others through language, communicate personal ideas, and explore the world with people whose perspectives may be different from our own.

Our staff also choose RaJA as parents.
The members of our team know RaJA from the inside—our educational philosophy, the children’s everyday experiences, and the environment in which learning takes place. Some of them have also chosen RaJA for their own children. For us, their decision is one of the strongest expressions of trust.

A letter from the mother of one of our graduates.
The first time I heard those words from my daughter, now in fifth grade, I understood that the experiences I had agonised over choosing for her had stayed inside her as precious memories — and my heart grew warm and tight.
April 2018In April 2018 I saw the news that “a nursery with multilingual education is opening”, and I thought, with all my heart, “I absolutely want her to go there!” English was going to be essential in the world ahead. And the environment in the first three years, when children grow so fast, shapes the developing brain. I wanted to give her the best experience I could in that precious time — that was my only thought.
DecidingMy daughter had been at nursery since she was about six months old. RaJA sat halfway between home and work, which was ideal, but there were two big walls: giving up the licensed nursery place we had worked so hard to get, and the fees of an unlicensed nursery, paid out of our own pocket. As a single parent, the monthly fees were never an easy hurdle. Still, I could not give up. I still remember asking myself “how can I make this work?”, and opening the household accounts again and again to rework our living costs.
The moveAt her age, joining meant only one year until graduation. I could still make the decision to move her because I was sure that her time at RaJA would be a real plus for her future. A multilingual environment centred on English, and small-group care that stays close to each child. And something I was truly grateful for as a parent: there was nothing to pack each day, not even a change of clothes. In our busy days, that thoughtfulness was a real rescue.
At RaJAOnce she started, the teachers poured so much love into her, and helped us both, parent and child, again and again. That English began to slip naturally into the songs she hummed at home and into scraps of everyday conversation is, without doubt, thanks to the rich time she spent at RaJA.
Looking back“I want to build the nursery I would want my own child to go to.” RaJA was born from that warm wish of its president, Salliee.
I am thankful from the bottom of my heart that I could give my daughter such a wonderful environment and experience in her two-year-old year — a precious time that will never come again.
